Scoring Space Project
In this group, you hear instructions through a headset - “hold this egg underwater” “hold it in your hand and squeeze firmly so that it can’t escape; its equal pressure from all sides that makes sure the egg doesn’t break, not the hardness of the shell”. Everyone was receiving instructions and information, but no track was the same.
In the project led by Martijn Tellinga, we were asked to consider what scoring (a fixed set of rules by which one executes a work) meant for us. In my case it meant looking into how group mentality changes if they all receive different instructions. How individuals respond to the authority of a voice-over telling you to do something. Even if in some cases you were never told to stop doing that thing.
