Touring the Garden Centre
When walking through any kind of shop I am usually focused on how I am being serviced. Where I can find this, how much discount do I get.
But let’s shift the perspective here for a sec. Let’s imagine for a moment you are part of a path; designed by others, with forces acting on you. Let’s shift the perspective downwards enough that you see things through the cage of a shopping cart; pushed around through the alleys and halls of the Center.
This tour was made with great joy. This joy was found in analysing the racks and routes of the garden center; in finding in its compositions many statements on our relationships with animals and plants, on affection and artificiality.
