Room for the Recovering Achilles Patient
In the room I made, someone sitting in the pose of a Achilles marble statue will feel comfortable on the sitting object, with a soft cushion to rest his back. With food and light supplied by the other objects in the room.
Achilles dies. Or so the story goes.
He doesn’t get endless treatment; his body isn’t in a constant state of recovery; there is no supply of vitamins or supplements.
He gets hit by a arrow on his heel, and with drama and pain he dies on the spot.
I set out to make a room where this mythical figure could be kept in a state of recovery. Where this story of imminent demise could be met with calmer, constant maintenance.
